One Ply Short in ‘08

Happy New Year and welcome to the new blog!

Let’s get down to business, shall we? First up, a 2007 recap…or, as I like to call it, Things I Didn’t Finish.

Still Taunting Me
Clockwise from top-left: Hideout Socks, Glee, Twisted Flower, Tilted Duster

There may be more than this that is technically “unfinished,” but I think these were the only ones I have blogged. The Hideout Socks are so close to being done that I really could just finish them today. Will I? Who knows. Glee has a bit more length to her than she does in that photo, but I haven’t touched her in months. Twisted Flower has turned into Non-existent Flower, but I’m still planning to cast on again with the same yarn. These socks will NOT beat me. The Tilted Duster is moving along quite nicely; I have about 5 inches or so done on the skirt with the sleeves ready to block and seam. Soon, I will be picking out the perfect buttons.

Now for the good stuff – recent additions to the fiber/fabric stash. I heart Santa and end-of-year sales.

Fleece Artist Sea Wool Charcoal
Fleece Artist Sea Wool in Ebony.

Rowan Pure Wool Choqua
Rowan Pure Wool DK in a choqua combination. Something stranded for sure with these.

J Knits LW Pueblo
J.Knits Lace-a-licious in Pueblo. Just in time for my lace obsession.

malabrigo lace weight
Malabrigo Lace in Dark Earth. Only two hanks pictured here, but I bought a third for over 1200 yards of soft, luscious merino laceweight.

Laci Valkyrie as Cake
Blue Moon Fiber Arts Laci in Valkyrie. Cat included for scale. Just kidding. It’s bigger than the cat. No, not really. It is darker than this, though, but I wanted you to see the beautiful reds and violets mixed in. It’s absolutely stunning.

Fabric for AB Bag
Needs some ironing, but these four pieces are going to be magically transformed into the Amy Butler In Town bag.

AB Fabric folded
This is from Amy’s Lotus collection and will be magically transformed into a panel skirt (sorry, no link to the pattern).

I have my work cut out for me, eh?
